About V. Renda Counseling
Vincenzo Renda, LCSW-R (He/ Him/His)
My decision to become a clinician is based on my innate clinical skill of listening, empathizing and empowering. Upon completing my undergraduate and graduate education in Long Island, NY I have been able to expand and hone these skills working at various types of settings,
including the legal system (criminal and civil) as well as private practice and finally, for underserved/ low-income populations in a community clinic for people with various biopsychosocial stressors. These stressors include substance use, chronic medical issues, severe mental health issues, homelessness and poverty for individuals and families. These experiences have helped me gain a greater understanding of the broad spectrum of traumatic influences and systemic designs that have shaped lives. These experiences have helped me empower all those people with whom I am working.
I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work and a Master's in Social Work from Adelphi University. I have served as a parenting coordinator, mediator, and family services coordinator for the County Court of Nassau, Mineola, NY. I am certified in transformative mediation training, parenting coordination, problem-solving therapy, and SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment), among others.
